The Adrian Flux Waterfront Studio, 9 Apr 2026
SLOW GHERKIN was formed in 1993 by teenagers AJ Marquez, Zack ZK Kent, Phil Boutelle, and James Rickman. They released their first album, Double Happiness, which was distributed by Asian Man Records, in 1996. They released their second album, Shed Some Skin, in 1998.
In 2002, the band released Run Screaming, their final album. The band played their last performance in 2002. In 2016, the band reunited to play at the Asian Man Records 20 year anniversary show and released two new singles on Lives. On August 29, 2025 the band reunited once again playing a show in their hometown of Santa Cruz. The following month in September 2025, the band played the Supernova Ska Festival in Hampton, VA. In November 2025 it was announced that Slow Gherkin will travel to the United Kingdom to play Manchester Punk Festival in April 2026, their first UK shows in 22 years.
FAINTEST IDEA take the bouncing beat of 2 Tone Ska and smash it over the head with fast, angry UK Punk. Hailing from the East Anglian region of Britain the rabble rousing political lyrics are shouted over layers of catchy brass lines and heavy boot stomping beats.
Signed to TNSrecords in the UK and Jump Start Records in the USA, the band have extensively toured the UK, Europe, Russia, Canada, Japan and the USA. Playing anywhere and everywhere from squats to venues to festival main stages and drawing inspiration from bands such as The Specials, The Filaments and Operation Ivy this is angry political commentary that you can shout along to while stomping your feet.
